Dr JOHN WORLDPEACE POSITION STATEMENT

Dr WorldPeace has opinions on everything. It is not my intention through the Teach Peace process promoted in this website to force my opinion on anyone. I can particilate in the Teach Peace process and give my input. The Teach Peace process does not have an agenda to promote a position on any isssue. The Teach Peace Process is designed to take any proposed human endeavor and ask one question: Do this proposed activity increase or decrease the level of peace in the world human society. If I want to participate in one of these session not a problem. The Teach Peace project has only one objective, have a discuss regarding any human event on the level of peace in the world human society. At the end of the process a vote is taken and entered. No session begins with a statement that there is a predetermined outcome of the discuss. It is not a discussion with any objective but to discus the impact and event will have on the level of peace in the world human society.

That said, I think it is appropriate for me to state my position on certain issues. If I am present in a session the following is the position I will take initially. During the course of the discussion my position may shift. Like all the other participants, at the end of the session I only have one vote like everyone else.

On Racism Directly

I have written a book on this specific subject, Raw White Racism, under 100 pages, grounded in 63 years of living in the South — Texas specifically — with additional time in Louisiana, Georgia, and Italy during my Army service, and a period in Colorado. My answer to the baseline question is direct: I am not a racist. My position on racism is documented at length in that book, not asserted here as a slogan.

On Women's Rights and Gender

I support equal rights for women without qualification. In my religious writing I have engaged directly with what Jesus is recorded as saying about marriage and the afterlife — that in heaven people exist without gender, because only God creates a soul, no one else. I take that teaching seriously as a statement about the limits of human institutions built on gender hierarchy.

On Sexuality

I am not gay. I support gay rights and equal rights fully. This is not a negotiable position, nor a controversial one to me.

Regarding my Personal Life

I have had five committed companions across roughly 45 years: two marriages of 19 years each, and three shorter relationships — two with women near my own age, two with women roughly half my age. My children came from my first marriage only. For the past decade I have lived without a companion, in a deliberately minimal, monastic manner. I say this plainly because it will be asked, directly or indirectly, and I would rather it be answered than speculated about.

On Religion and Spiritual Practice

I was raised Christian. Over decades I have rewritten and restructured several major religious texts as personal study and clarification, not as claims to authority over them: I combined the four Gospels into a single narrative, removed repetition, grouped events by subject, and from that work wrote The Story of Jesus: An Epic Poem, composed in my standard poetic form — no punctuation, spacing used in its place. I have also rewritten the Dhammapada, the Bhagavad Gita, the Analects of Confucius, the Tibetan Book of the Dead, the Book of Job, and the Psalms, removing archaic language — the thees and thous — to make them plainly readable. I have investigated UFOs, psychics, and fortune-tellers seriously and at length over many years, as part of a broader lifelong inquiry into what lies beyond ordinary explanation.

My foundation is the red-letter words of Jesus — what Jesus himself is recorded as having said, rather than what later institutions built around him. I hold to Hebrews 8:10 and Jeremiah 31:33 (God's law written directly on the human heart and mind, requiring no intermediary teacher) as core to my belief: that truth about God is found through direct study, meditation, and prayer, not through following any human leader to it. No preacher can walk you to heaven. If a religious leader is profiting more than the people he leads, something has gone wrong with that arrangement. Jesus overturned the money-changers' tables in the Temple and said plainly that religion is not a business. Jesus also said to give to Caesar what is Caesar's — a statement of political non-involvement, not endorsement of any government or party.

I am, by this standard, a spiritual follower of the red-letter words of Jesus. I am not a religionist of any denomination or stripe. I have never attempted to build a corporate religion, a congregation, or an institution around any of this.

On Institutional Religion

I hold institutional religion, across traditions, to real account where it has failed the people in its care. The Catholic Church's documented pattern of shielding abusers from civil authorities rather than turning them over, and its continued exclusion of women from its highest offices, are failures by its own stated values, not mine. Comparable institutional failures exist in other traditions as well — Islam, Mormonism, and others — where doctrine and institutional self-preservation have at times taken precedence over the people the institution claims to serve. I hold the modern movement of corporate Christian nationalism in the same regard: it runs directly against the teaching of the man it claims to follow, particularly his explicit non-involvement in political power.

On Organization and Money

I have built no organization around this Teach Peace process, and I will not have. There is nothing to join, no membership, no congregation. I do accept donations in support of increasing the peace; every dollar received is directed toward administrative support and advertising for the Teach Peace effort itself, not personal use. I intend to continue living a minimalist life regardless of what comes in.

On the Body of Work

Everything above has, over decades, been put into writing: more than 160 published books and a personally built and maintained website, johnworldpeace.com, running approximately 50,000 pages — pages, not words. I have painted since age 14; that work, along with my poetry — more than 125 published collections, and still ongoing — is publicly available online. None of this has been actively marketed until now.

On my Name Change in 1988

I legally changed my name to John WorldPeace in 1988, at a personal turning point, to conform my name to the work I had already been engaged in, in one form or another, since I was 8 years old. The name was not adopted to claim achievement. It was adopted because it named the one goal in my life I understood could never be fully completed — and therefore the only one worth organizing the rest of my life around.

On Teach Peace the method specifically

None of the above is stated as the position of Teach Peace. Teach Peace itself remains what it has always been: one evaluative question, applied consistently, with no requirement that a student, a university, or a teacher share any of my personal views to use it honestly. This document exists so that my personal views are known to those who need to know them before committing real time to this partnership — not to make the project about me, and not to be republished or restated inside the curriculum itself.
